In a Stillwater News Press article from 2015, former Transportation Program Director Jason Peek said the roundabout will enhance safety at an intersection with poor visibility for traffic crossing or entering Main Street from 10th Avenue. The solution is more cost effective compared to installing a traffic signal and it provides an appealing entrance from the south into downtown.
