The Stillwater Planning Commission is set to review multiple development proposals at its Feb. 25 meeting, including a controversial short-term rental application and a new residential subdivision.

Driving the meeting: A short-term rental application for 5313 W. Country Club Drive has drawn objections from nearby residents concerned about neighborhood safety and property values.

  • In their letters to the Commission, Tina Fugate and Kent Dieball, who live across the street, wrote that short-term rentals could lead to increased noise, safety issues and disruptions from transient guests unfamiliar with the quiet, family-friendly area. They claim the owners have already been renting out the home for months before applying.

🏘️ New housing developments: KMR Development, LLC is seeking approval for a final plat creating 12 new residential lots in Park View Estates Section 10, Phase 1.

📍 Rezoning request: Lambert Properties and CSCM Properties are requesting to rezone properties near Oklahoma State University from Two-Family Residential to Two-Family & Multi-Family.

Regulatory changes: The Development Services Department has proposed amending subdivision regulations to allow non-consecutive lot numbering in final plats under certain circumstances.

  • The amendment aims to provide flexibility for large, phased developments while maintaining a preference for consecutive numbering in routine subdivisions.

What's next: The Planning Commission will review and make recommendations on these proposals to the City Council. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m., Feb. 25 in Room 1122 at 723 S. Lewis St.
